Local Sounds is an award-winning platform dedicated to supporting emerging and independent Australian artists. We offer a complete suite of services to help you grow your audience — from music discovery and artist profiles to event promotion and professional press materials.

We welcome submissions from Australian-based artists and bands with studio-quality tracks who want to reach a growing audience. Our dedicated music team reviews every submission with care and will contact you within approximately ten business days if your track is selected for our playlists and artist showcases.

Due to the high volume of submissions we receive, we're unable to provide individual feedback to every artist. However, every submission receives genuine consideration from our team.

When Your Music Gets Added

If your track is selected, here's how we'll promote your music:

Local Sounds Radio Addition — New local featured artist tracks air at 5:00 and 30:00 past each hour throughout the day.

Artist Profile — We create a dedicated profile page for your music, complete with your bio, images, and streaming links.

Social & Playlist Promotion — Your tracks get added to our curated Spotify playlists and shared across our social channels.

All fields marked with an asterisk * are required. We prefer clean, radio-ready songs without explicit lyrics. Please note: if you're not sure whether your track has explicit content, we recommend uploading a clean version.

File Uploads
We need a high-quality studio or live recording. MP3 format at a minimum of 192 kbps is preferred. Please note: tracks with explicit lyrics are discouraged. If your song contains explicit content, consider uploading a clean version instead.
Record a short Radio ID (15-30 seconds) where you mention your name, where you're from, and Local Sounds Radio. Sound enthusiastic—let listeners hear your excitement! You can use iPhone Voice Memos, the Voice Memo app on Android, or a free online recorder like online-voice-recorder.com.

Example script idea: "Hi, I'm [Your Name] from [Your Location]. You're listening to Local Sounds Radio. My new track is called '[Song Title],' a song about [brief description/where it was recorded]. You can find more of my music on Spotify and [other streaming platform]. I'm [Your Name], and I hope you enjoy '[Song Title]' on Local Sounds!"

Studio quality isn't necessary—just make sure your voice is clear and easy to hear.
